Nisam sigurna koliko vas to zna, ali danas mi je rođendan. Tako je, danas punim, verovali ili ne - 27 godina! Već godinama unazad ne slavim rođendan jer nisam neko ko naročito uživa u konvencionalnim proslavama, ali počev od ove godine obeležavaću ga na način koji me mnogo više ispunjava - slaviću svoj život i sve što će mi on tek doneti. Proslavljaću svoje pobede u bitkama koje sam vodila u tišini, negovati svoje osnaženo samopouzdanje, skupljaću male životne radosti i željno iščekivati svaku novu priliku, lekciju i osobu koja će tek doći. Ugasila sam svećice na čokoladnom lava kolaču, zatvorila oči i zamislila želju, a sad jedva čekam da upoznam osobu koja ću postati u godini koja mi predstoji. ♡

Odlučila sam da danas jednom malom promenom izgleda prizovem jednu predivnu dušu koja se rodila tačno 87 godina pre mene - Fridu Kalo. Mnogo puta sam čula da podsećam na nju i zato sam poželela da ovaj rođendan podelim sa sećanjem na nju koje i dalje živi. Pronašla sam inspiraciju u prepoznatljivim segmentima njenog vizuelnog identiteta i bogatom nasleđu koje je stvorila za svega 47 godina koliko je živela. Njena životna priča je bolna koliko je ona sama bila izuzetna, ali iskreno se nadam da se smeši negde u raju (gde joj je i mesto) svaki put kad je se neko seti kroz njenu umetnost, i da slika cveće koje nikad neće uvenuti. ♡

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but today is my birthday. That's right, today I'm turning, believe it or not - 27! I haven't celebrated my birthday in years because I don't enjoy conventional celebrations in particular, but starting from this year I'll be marking it in a way I find much more fulfilling - I'll celebrate my life and everything it has yet to bring me. I'll celebrate my victories in battles that I've lead in silence, nourish my empowered confidence, collect the little joys of everyday life and eagerly wait for every new opportunity, lesson and person that is yet to come my way. I blew out the candles on a chocolate lava cake, closed my eyes, made a wish, and now I can't wait to meet the person I'll become in the upcoming year. ♡

I decided to do this look in order to summon a beautiful soul that was born exactly 87 years before me - Frida Kahlo. Many people told me that I reminded them of her and so I wanted to share this birthday with the memory of her that lives on. I found inspiration in the signature segments of her visual identity and the rich heritage that she created in only 47 years she lived here on Earth. The sadness of her life story is matched by her own exceptionality, but I honestly hope that she's smiling somewhere in heaven (where she belongs) every time someone remembers her through her art, and that she's painting flowers that will never die. ♡
